Dialup(direct) or SMTP
Hi, I have been reviewing your site and am confused by a couple of things:
>From what I can tell, it is best to use this (for sending large bulk emails) with an ISP that changes IPs upon disconnect. From this, I think this means I would need to use a "dial up" service instead of my primary cable internet provider (which I suppose is good to do anyway to prevent spam complaints from hurting). Is this correct - use a dial up service. If so, how fast can I expect it to work? I am hoping to send roughly 20K messages a day.
Yes. You are correct. A dialup is the best. When using a dsl connection, you can reach 100k a day easily, sometimes doube that number, depending of how good your list is to begin with (some addresses are hard or nearly impossible to send to using direct sending and in those cases it's good to combine direct with SMTP sending).
Also, is it a good idea to have more than one dial up service - say 3-4 - that work in rotataion as I think you alluded to in one of the videos?
Yes. Having many connections is good. Preferably from different ISPs so as to have the IP addresses come from different ranges.
All this leads me to ask what email addresses can I send "from". I assume they need to be valid addresses that I create with the dial up ISP?
It's ok to use the address you got from your ISP, but it's even better to get many different addresses from other sources. You can buy a domain and hosting, for example, for $3-$4 a month and get unlimited email account with that domain, or you can use free web accounts (like yahoo, gmail etc.)
I am also confused by the "direct" vs "smtp" sending. It seems that what I think is opposite of what you said in the videos, but I may be defining smtp wrong. If I select smtp, can I send from my gmail accounts using "smtp.gmail.com" to send through? What is the benefit or risk of sending direct vs smtp??
In the version you have sending from smtp.gmail.com is not possible since they use a secure connection. This is only supported in vesion 1.2.8.2 and above (which is coming out soon). Sending by SMTP is faster since someone else is doing all the hard work of retrying many times, but many times your ISP will limit the number of emails you may send using one account. This is why some people choose to buy 20-30 accounts and use all of them in rotation. Email Beast supports that. Sending direct does not use the email servers of your ISP and therefore they cannot limit you. If done correctly (after some trial and error) one can reach very good speeds of sending (but never as fast as unlimited SMTP sending).

Thanks for your help. I think this program is just what I need, but need to be more clear how to properly use it.
Thanks, Jon
Thank you.
